Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of the Faith Fr. Robert Barron uses his engaging, reverent style to take the reader on a journey through many parts of our Catholic faith. This book is highly recommended by Archbishop Charles Chaput, Scott Hahn, and George Weigel. Find it on our new books shelf or in the Catholic Faith section. +++
Catholicism Video Series This is the 10-part series that goes with the above book, but can be watched separately, and in any order. +++ What Catholics Really Believe -- Setting the Record Straight Ever wonder about some of the "rules" you may have heard about our faith? For example, have you ever heard "Every Catholic must go to confession at least once a year"? Well, as the book states, "Close, but no cigar." If you want the explanation, read this book. Plus, you can find out more from this easy-to-read book by Karl Keating. It is in the Apologetics section. +++ For the Children: We have several titles from the St. Joseph Picture Books series that can teach your children more about our faith. A few of them are The Eight Beatitudes, The Seven Sacraments, and The Works of Mercy. Find them in the blue basket in the children's area. Also, you could check out a book called I Believe by Piera Paltro which explains the creed line by line. It is also located in the blue basket. The DVD series We Are Catholic, aimed at approximately 5-10 year olds, has many topics in this area, too, with titles such as Scripture and Tradition, Baptism, Purgatory, Communion of Saints, and Redemptive Suffering.
