Can you spare 15 minutes or so after the Mass you usually attend? If you like books and helping people, this is the ministry for you! We have an organized short training session and can be with you your first time or two. Please contact Diane Ashour, ashour_23@sbcglobal.net or metro 972-601-9751, for more information.
We have many children's books about the Christmas story. There are enough to read a book a day during the whole season of Advent! If you would like to do this, check out 7 this weekend, return them next weekend, then check out 7 more. We pulled the books and put them on the children's shelf between the two baskets. Others are located on the Advent shelf. You could also have a movie one day instead of a book. The library has several different animated Bible story series as well as Veggie Tales and other series that have Christmas specials for children. Please do come by and check them out and please remember to return them promptly so other families can enjoy them, too. God bless you during the Advent season!
The parish library, located in the northeast corner of the narthex, has resources for the seasons of Advent and Christmas. Click through for details of some of the items.
Most of our library items have been donated by parishioners. If you have items to donate, please drop them off at the library or the church office. Not everything received can be used in the library due to space, duplicates, suitability, etc. If you would like something returned if it can’t be used in the St. Joseph library, please include a note including your name and number with your donation. If you would like to purchase a new, needed item for the parish library, please contact Diane Ashour, 972-601-9751, ashour_23@sbcglobal.net for suggestions. Thank you so much for your generosity to your parish!
You have some fantastic new videos on the shelves at your parish library! Fatima, Padre Pio, First Reconciliation, and a Catholic take on psychology are the topics. Click to read more about each one.
Click on this article for more details about the new books with the following topics: Infertility, making sense of our faith, stories, Catechism in Spanish, journey to Catholic faith, parenting, Christmas songs for children, and rediscovering our Catholic faith.
We need more volunteers for our busy library! You can make a difference just volunteering 20 minutes a month.
You don’t have to be a professor of theology to help people learn more about their faith! As a St. Joseph library volunteer, you can assist people by helping them find books and materials. You will get training and assistance until you feel comfortable. It doesn’t take much time either, just 15-20 minutes or so after the Mass you choose, about once a month. Click on title for more information. If you are interested, please contact Diane Ashour, 972-601-9751, or ashour_23@sbcglobal.net.
